Learn About Marshall Wisconsin
Marshall is a town in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States, along the Maunesha River. The populace was 3,862 at the 2010 registration. It is a piece of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area.
In June of 1837, 45 men made their way from Milwaukee to Madison to start development of the new state legislative hall. Three of these men, Andrew and Zenas Bird and Aaron Petrie, gave careful consideration of an untainted area to start their lives. Numerous long periods of work finished in October of 1838, when a harvest time prairie fire demolished an open building and the start of a sawmill. For over 10 years, the present day town was known as Bird’s Ruins.
Between June 1839 and 1847, numerous newcomers settled here called Medina. A two-room outline house filled need for a general store and religious administrations. The main doctor in the region finished the sawmill. Amid this time, a little red block school, a milldam, a Baptist Church, Methodist Church, and the main postal administration were produced.
The Township of Medina was formally sorted out in 1848. Amid the nineteenth century, the Village and Township kept on developing. In 1849, Bird’s Ruins moved toward becoming Hanchetville in acknowledgment of Asahel Hanchett’s capacity for baiting a few required organizations to the Village. Hanchett included a gristmill, migrated the sawmill, and built another dam.
